Avoiding the Edges

AVOIDING THE EDGES (series), 2016-2017 “Avoiding the Edges,” is in many ways a continuation of the work I began in my Evolutions-Spirit series. This group of work, however, is more about space, not the flat canvas space, but the space beyond the canvas support, beyond a suggested window. The shapes in this body of work and the titles offer some clues about the content and thoughts surrounding the individual paintings. The paintings have developed out of intuition and life experiences rather than scientific research, more from spirit than science. Freed from the boundaries of the edges, these paintings offer a parallel universe to our own. My interest is more drawn to creative thinking rather than illustrating, and leaves room for the viewer’s imagination and participation.
