Windows I 2005-2006
George Wardlaw’s Windows are openings to vicarious adventure, the imagination, flights of fantasy, invention, mystery, and contemplation. In a variety of ways, Windows paintings are a continuation of the earlier series of Doors and Passages. Windows I displays a very quiet, silent, and tranquil atmosphere. It echoes aspects of the vastness of the sea, the sky, and the intensity of shore light; where as,Windows II tends to be more ambiguous and mysterious. Both series are formed from a collection of pieces, a collage from different times and places, partly real and partly invented.
